To me I wouldn't think any auctioneer would take a bid over the phone without a written letter from the would be buyer. 25 years ago a mans word was his bond. Apparently lot of them has died off because I myself and i can tell you of a whole more people who has lost a sale because the buyer didn't show up or sent any money. Times has changed a lot the last 10 years. Really sad because there still are some good people out there that there word is bond and there getting screwed by these people that screw everyone else. just saying.
