I think they were made in the early 1970's until 1976 or 1977. The 1980's farm crisis was a tough time. For some farms to survive, money for a larger tractor was out of the question. Many 1066's were weighted down with the injection pumps turned up to do the work of a larger tractor. Condition is everything on them now. Specifications can be found in Nebraska Tractor tests #1081, #1083 and #1124.
