Chevy didn't get the 3.6L V6 right until 2012 - and then some people claim its still has issues. I wouldn't own one older than that - they are well known for their timing chain issues. I could see the 2.4 I4 struggling with the weight of a Terrain - especially if its an AWD unit. I had one in a HHR and wasn't at all impressed - even the fuel mileage was a little disappointing. It supposedly had 180hp but the HHR I had was even slower than the old 90s Taurus I had with a 145hp 3.0 V6. Some have a 3.0 V6 that GM only had in production for 3-4 years. I haven't heard anything about that engine.
