I would NOT flash it. If you get it all hooked up and nothing is comming out, then maybe the voltage regulator is fryed. The next thing to try while it is still running on you tractor, take an old fasion corded drill with brushes. Plug it in, squeeze the trigger, and turn the chuck by hand. This will put a very small charge into the generator that will usually make it start charging. These are the two big buggaboo things that I can think of.
