I'm betting this JD will start as good or better than the old Perkins powered Massey and that one never failed to start as long as the block heater was plugged in below freezing.
This 2140 has two positive cables going to the solenoid and the two ground straps to the firewall. Seems to work well but when it comes time to replace batteries I'm hoping to change over to one big 12 instead of two smaller 12s it has now. I've run the Massey forever on a single 12 with no problems. Same on the 730 Case diesel.
