Wow. This thread went downhill. I will not comment on the disability issue. A couple things come to mind:
1) Jobs are easier to get than a few years ago. So folks can move up a bit. A lot of heavy labor jobs have always had a lot of turnover. I think that will increase.
2) I see a lot of talk about wages. $15 per hour is not a lot of money. Its poverty level anywhere in this country. Maybe when there were a lot of illegals working here, they held down wages. Not so much anymore.
3) Lots of talk of farm kids. Farmers are maybe 1% of the population, so farm kids are less than that. There are dam few farm kids out there. Maybe 1 in a thousand? Basically unicorns...
4) I am 62. Not getting on a roof for $25. Maybe $100, but doubht I'd last!! Some of these jobs are for young men. Not us!
