A few years ago I had a D-6 that had been ruined by neglect by the municipality that owned it.A fellow that was restoring one wanted it as it had perfect tracks and undercarriage parts.We decided to sell it to him for scrap price.I called the scrap place where I knew the owner and asked him what to ask for out of it.At the time it was $365.per ton.And,it wasn't the gross ton,or metric ton of 2240,it was a real 2000 pound ton.We were just shocked,it wasn't what we expected.Last week the guy that hauls my iron took a little load in and it was $80.per ton.
