Flagstaff is at altitude up in the mountains. Not all of Arizona is low altitude arid desert. I was in Flagstaff once during a snow storm. Going south out of town, there's a downgrade with a sign, "Trucks Use Low Gear Next 11 Miles". By the time I got to the bottom of the grade, it was sunny and warm.
We were in Leadville, Colorado in July once when the high temp for the day was 38.
