I'd say the answer is almost 100% no. One factor is we live in a highly disposable world. Another is lack of respect of a dollar not to mention a hard earned dollar. Also a lot of people don't look at assets as their livelihoods. Mass production with low quality parts as to make for an affordable price also plays a major role. Like right now I have a craftsman mower. Descent mower does a pretty good job. I'm having some transmission issues with it. A new transmission is several hundred dollars more than I paid for it. By the time I take my purchase price and add the repair cost I'm time and money ahead to go buy a new big better faster mower. Motor still runs good. Deck still cuts good but it's either leave it around taking up shed space deal with the hassle of trying to sell it or junk it.
