I have been working on a JD 4055:
1. On the corner posts I used a propane torch and then a gasket scraper. But if you use the snap on corner posts from Fehr you only need to get down to the metal where the Velcro adhesives go on the two front post.
2. On the lower part of the cab I used gasket scrapers and Goo Gone or similar products. The wire brush only smeared the glue around and then started heating it.
So, depending on the glues used you might trying multiple things. But the real time saver is to use the Fehr Snap One corner posts and leave the old glue on except where the Velcro's go.
