IMO a college degree in any field is only as good as the person who achieves that degree. If you have a good work ethic then you will be successful. I started out going for an agriculture degree and changed to general business. It appeared to me that unless I was going into research or some specialty it was better for me.
The problem I have with colleges is that, in many cases, they don't encourage entrepreneurship. The most successful people I know didn't go to college. One of my friends has been extremely successful and he only has a GED. He said that he decided to take the expense of the college degree and expand his business. It's ironic that he didn't even graduate HS and yet he has dozens working for him that are college educated.
