I hate a vandal worse than a thief, at least I can see what they were getting out of it. Just an other similar story, I had a trailer that I was using to haul hay, I left it several miles from the nearest road. The next morning I went to get it and the wires were cut on it very similar to what you described. I never did figure what happened but it had to be some critter. It was at least 5 miles to the nearest building and 3 miles to the nearest county road. I didn't find any teeth marks on the wire and the ground was too hard for animal tracks.
