The hex nut between the tube, and tie rod end is a jam nut to hold the tie rod from turning. You have to loosen the jam nut then unscrew the tie rod end from the tube. One end of the tube is right hand thread, the other end is left hand thread. Look at the threads on the tie rod ends for which way they turn to loosen, the jam nut is screwed onto the tie rod itself. They have the right hand thread on one end, and left hand thread on the other end so you can adjust the length of the tube (it's called a drag link) without having to remove either end of tie rod from the arms to adjust the length.
