He's been around a long time... used to be just a database of auction prices; but has kind of morphed into the TV show and farm magazine columnist. Since the decline in commodity prices, he seems to be mostly interested in propping up used equipment prices to help dealers by showcasing some machine that brought a lot on auction. I suppose this does help farmers as well, as they can then think a little more highly of their own machinery investment :), even if the bank doesn't agree.
I used to think of him as an advocate for farmers, but lately he has been running ads for dealers- they show up in my inbox on Saturday mornings. I've lost respect with that addition.
