Where are you located??? At this late date spraying to get the weeds under control is needed. The trouble is with mature Marestail I do not know of any chemical that will kill it and not kill or hurt the soybeans. If you really hit the weeds hard you can easily stun the soybeans to where you may not get a crop. If the beans have not been sprayed at this late of date I am not sure the beans will yield enough to off set your cost of chemicals and harvest.
Without seeing how bad the weeds are it is hard to advice you on what to do. If the weeds are terrible you maybe better off in the long run to spray hard and kill everything including the beans to stop the marestail from producing seed. A single Marestail plant can product tens of thousands of seeds. You may have trouble finding anyone willing to harvest the soybeans if the marestail is very bad. We cut around any marestil we see in the field. We do not want it in the combine to spread to other fields/customers.
