Old is right, if you want traction add ballast to the rear, on the wheels or in the tires.
I don't do dirt work with my 8N but do mow some soft, sandy inclined ground and I would spin tires and sometimes get stuck. I loaded the tires about 75% with used antifreeze and I don't spin much if any at all now.
