This way off-the-wall... but our computer was loading internet slow AND it would drop the connection too. I figured it was our old modem needing replacement.
It turned out to be a corroded wire in the connection box outside our house - the phone company tech said there was only about 1-2 strands of wire still making connection.
Also as others have said, google and youtube often have written instructions/videos that are very helpful. (I just recommend NOT clicking on any links within any written instructions on the net.)
Knowing the brand of computer, the type of operating system, etc. would help folks know how to help you.
Seems computers are set to automatically Defragment these days - but it might be worth checking the settings and/or manually doing a Defragment.
After Defragmenting... I also occasionally do a Disk-Cleanup.
Also Clearing Internet History gets rid of some clutter too.

The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
