I am adding a 1973 IH Loadstar grain truck to my farm insurance policy, and the agent needs a "cost of vehicle when new" to cover a vehicle more than 40 years old. I figure some of you probably bought a new grain truck in the early 1970s, gas engine, 16 foot bed with hoist, and can search your gray-matter archives to remember what you paid for it. My WAG was $5000.
In an unusual turn of fate for me, by adding this truck to my policy, I qualify for a multi-policy discount I did not have before, which is more than the cost of insurance on the truck: subtraction by addition!!
