This is a picture of the 1984 , 5640 Ford tractor that I had. It had a forward reverser , with a 4 speed shifter and 3 ranges giving 12 speed , full synchronize trany. This was a 58 hp , dry clutch tractor , and was also available in two wheel drive , with or with out cab. I bought this tractor new , and it spent near it's whole life as my yard tractor , doing loader work/feeding cows. We had to replace the clutch at 5000 hrs, I dealt it off with 8000 hrs . This was a Great tractor for me , and if I could have bought a new tractor just like it, I would have in a heartbeat. But sadly , the Ford tractors became NH , which are just Fiat tractors , and I don't care for them . A forward reverser is not as good as a true shuttle , because you can still wear out the clutch , and in my old tractor , the synchronizers had worn out , and it was going to be a big $$$ job to fix. If you could fine one of these tractors , it would fit your needs very well , especially if you can get the Shwarts Manufacturing Company loader , as the one on my tractor , really strong loader. makes the Alo loaders look like junk.
