Ford industrial 4 cyl. Solid state dist. Checked cam sproket and crank sproket for timing marks every thing lines up. Timing belt good. Heres the problem timing is 20 degrees off. Back fire through carb, sooty plugs in just a very short time of running. Acts like the timing is way off and running very rich. Turned down fuel micture but does not help. All the basics have been checked several times. Any sugestions? Should add compresion is 140 145. Im thinking distributor is shot.
