How have you determined that it is over heating? Does it boil over or just reads hot on the gauge? Bad gauges on those things are not uncommon. Boiling over may indicate head gasket issues or simply that the rad tank is too full... Could also be a bad water pump, plugged radiator (either internally or externally), bad thermostat or something as simple as a loose belt. Have you checked fuel flow to the pump? Open the bleeder and crank the engine over and make sure it fires a good stream of fuel from the bleeder. If ti doesn't you have an obstruction or lift pump problem. Other issues I've seen are completely plugged air cleaners. If the engine won't attain full speed or is making a pile of black smoke and blowing soot in the air, that is a good indication that the air cleaner is blocked. Check some of these things and post back with info on what you find...
