I live in a residential area, same place for 46 years. I don't remember seeing a rabbit very often until about 15 years ago, now we see them every day almost. They get into my garden, this year they levelled off my young bean plants as they emerged from the ground. I covered the rows with stucco wire and they did recover, beans will be later than usual this year though. These are urban rabbits, it's not like their migrating in from the surrounding rural areas, they are born, live, breed and die right here in and around the houses. Not sure where they go to die, only came across one carcass over the years.
