New condensers can be intermittent. Key switch can suddenly open then soon after work properly again. The coil, when going bad, can work perfectly well and then suddenly stop producing spark. The coil in this situation slowly heats up until the insulation at a bad place in the winding allows coil to coil contact and it will suddenly go dead. Once it cools off it will work again. A gasoline problem takes just a few minutes to stop the motor. Vapor lock is impossible in a gravity feed fuel system. The gas will get under the air every time.
