Hi All,
I have a 1938 Farmall F-20 that I am getting ready to replace the radiator core on. I have already purchased the new radiator core which came with the top and bottom tank gaskets from Rice in PA.
My question is primarily, is there anything special that needs to be/should be done to the radiator ahead of time? Do most people prime/paint them or leave them natural? Are any sealants needed or should the gaskets work just fine on their own? Any other advice?
Also, any advice on how to get the old radiator completely out of the tractor? I am rebuilding a spare that the metal is in better condition, but the tractor still has the sheet metal plate that goes between the radiator and the bolster. When I rebuilt the engine this past winter I could only shift it a little, not enough to get it all the way out.
