If you look through a seed catalog there are lots of varieties of sweet corn available. Most newer varieties have enhancements to sugar content and how long they hold the sweetness. Some of them have almost gotten too sweet. Even the real early stuff which in my mind wasn't worth growing tastes better than it used to. Even the commercially grown sweet corn is great which sometimes commercial seed varieties can leave a lot to be desired. For me I can live on sweet corn - maybe toss in a hamburger or 2. Unfortunately around here the raccoons like corn a day earlier than I do.
