USPS has fallen on hard times, I guess. I seem to have a different carrier every day at my office in town, and delivery time is sometime during the calendar day- sometimes after I have gone home for the day. Got an important envelope from Kansas (I'm in Washington), it took 8 days (one day after I needed it)! A local company that sends and receives a lot of mail (rent checks from 1800 units) says they estimate it costs them about $100 a month in check and receipt re-issues, staff time, etc. for lost or misdirected mail.
