My farmall c was rebuilt before I purchased it. The head gasket was dripping anti freeze in the middle of head and down the side of block.
When I pulled the head I noticed my sleeves were about .010 inch above the block. I asked the old mechanics at IH case if this was normal? They said yes. I have to re torque head bolts 6 times after running the engine.
I coated my head gasket with copper paint. I think I ordered head gasket from IH case, felpro. There are places on the block where there is a very small area between the water and oil ports.
If I ever have to replace head gasket again, I'll put a very thin coat of silicone on each side and let it set up for a few hours before putting head back on. geo.
