I remember back in the 70s a friend of mine installed a factory rebuilt 391 in an LN800. He had worked on a few of these and he pointed out that the block is the same as the Ford passenger car. This one, like he said most of the truck engines,even had 352 stamped on it.
As I recall, what made the 361 and 391 truck engines unique was mostly the forged HD cranks, the sodium filled valves and the cam.The head may have also been different too but I'm not sure. Anyway, the block is the same and has the same bell housing pattern.
