Here any thing over 8k GVW is a one time fee of $20. This makes anything over that weight a Heavy Utility trailer. The state nails you on the tags for your truck. I am licensed for a combined GVW of 30k on a 3/4 ton dodge and trailer. My fees are $361 per year. You are lucky.
