Jim The biggest savings is in not having to break the AC system open. Also I can have the rear half rolled out in about the time it takes you to remove the cab. You just need to support the back of the cab. I have jacks that I made that do this. I would say on a complete job it saves 3-4 hours.
This only applies when doing a transmission split only. If you have to split at the cutch housing then it is quicker to lift the cab.
