Good spark as in it jumps a 1/4 inch gap or more?? If it does not jump a 1/4 inch gap or more it is not a good spark and need to be taken care of.
You say you have gas to the carb but that does not mean you have gas in the carb and no gas in the carb means no run. Pull the float bowl drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in under 3 minutes. If it does not fill the jar and yes catch the gas in a jar or some other such thing. If you do not have that flow you either have a sticking float or the float needle does not open as it should or the float is not set as per spec
