we did it once on a jeep trip in the winter. one guy running too low pressure and wheel came off rim. Put a tie down around tire and shot either in and lit it off, first time we didn't put air pressure to it quick enough. second try we put air to it as soon as it popped and worked. I did a similar thing with a friend's trailer tire. I did get it away from anyting flamable when I did it. He was kind of impressed with my ingenuity(so was I but acted like I did it every other day)
