BINGO! I see people, mostly lake shore owners building (cost of construction) 200K-300K homes all the time. Their money. I could care less. Would it be nice to be able to do that? Sure!
I don't like external_link one little bit. But it's his money. He made a bundle on his version of Mein Kampf that was published about the time he took office plus he has a pretty decent retirement and 400K speaking engagements. He can afford "digs" like that.
Kinda each to his own too. There was a woman who built a home on 11 acres about a mile from me in the late 90's. Cost of construction about 250K. She lived there about 6 months and decided she missed living someplace with dinner theaters and fine dining, sold out and moved back to the twin cities. Now I've lived in both environments. Can't stand the idea of living "shoulder to shoulder" in a city or suburban area. Others can't stand the idea of living "in the sticks".
I do stand by my earlier comment concerning just how people without much can believe a politician is on their side when that politician is worth a great deal of money. You can google the top richest politicians, surprising just how many of the top 10 are also the ones who are supposed to be for the poor.
