Bought Mom one of those Weboost amplifiers for Christmas, and set it up in the upstairs bedroom window. On my new phone I now get 4 bars of 4G where without it I would only get one, or no 4G at all. The old phone went from constantly flipping back and forth between 3G and 4G to a solid 3-bar 4G signal.
The booster only has limited range though. You need to be within 15' of it to get the boosted signal.
I've read where they seem to work better under an eave than mounted on the roof on an antenna mast. My experience supports that to a degree. Since it works so well I'm not going to climb on the roof to find out if mounting it on the antenna mast would make it any better.
