Since its 1/2 id hard line before, and after the hose, going to a 1/2 id hose shouldn't make any difference (I've made lots of hydraulic hoses out in the field as a heavy equipment field mechanic for 20+ years). The same two wire hose (in either 1/2" id or 3/4" id) the 1/2" id hose will handle more pressure before it will burst as there is less area on the inside of the hose for the pressure to work against. Think about it, look at the little, thin tube that is used for a engine oil pressure gage. Usually if you see a bigger id two wire hose in between two smaller id hard lines chances are the hose was replaced with what was available. I have had to replace a hose with a larger id hose many times due to not having enough of the same size hose the machine had originally. Regardless the operator doesn't see a difference between the two. Now if you go to a smaller id hose than what the id of the hard lines are then it's a different story.
