It's much the same in the HVAC world. Most large brands will sell to you only through the distributor that "serves" your zip code or region. It makes one brand alot stronger than another just because of one dealer being easier to deal with than another. In my area a Carrier can be sold way cheaper and serviced better than a Trane just because of who is selling it.
Toss another variable into it is an independent dealer has to buy from Trane and then has to compete with Trane for the service. Supposedly Trane service and sales are 2 separate businesses. Lol they both owned by the same place franchise and underthe same roof. It is everything not just ag equipment.
