A Landing Ship Tank was a pretty big toy in the bath tub. If you watch that special that was done about all of the side scan radar they did of all 50 miles of the beaches. There is one LST they looked over pretty good. Still can't get over the M4 Sherman DD drive tanks. If the weather wasn't so crappy and the guys running the tanks were familliar with little BOATS and knew how to not get swamped, maybe more than three or four of them would have gotten to shore. How about a nine cylinder airplane engine for power? Over 50,000 M4 tanks were built. We just burried the Germans in production. Here is one. Let me find the other.
