I sell Ford trucks for a living, and genuinely believe we have the best product on the market. But, the worst product on the market probably does more than it's owners need it too. Everything runs to 200k pretty well trouble free. The power is huge compared to yesteryear, and you can get a truck that rubs your butt while you drive. On the farm I have a '79 Ford F250, an '82 Dodge Rampage, and a 2000 Ford F550. None of these hold a candle to whatever you consider to be junk today, but they all do the job well enough for me. Recalls are a fact of life. The only thing new about them is how great we have it as consumers these days with getting the information and the number of things they'll fix.
