When I bought my 820 it had sat outside for 2 or 3 years uncovered. I drained the oil pan and there was a good pint or so water came out so not sure if it came down the pipe or from an internal leak. Ive left the drain plug and oil filter out and now filled the radiator with some coloured water and placed some clean paper below both. Im guessing if its an internal leak then it will show up with the coloured water if it came down the pipe then it should be dry. Now how do I get as much of the oily water out of the engine? is there any other covers or drain plugs that can be removed to aid cleaning? I see there is a plate just forward of the oil filter housing, can this be removed to aid the cleaning? Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.
