Like everything, everyone has an opinion. My son will only buy Bosche wiper blades. The others he has said don't last. I am going to switch over to the Bosche on the next set I buy. I will agree with cleaning the windshield. Road grime is nasty stuff. Between the dirt and grit you have all of the oil drips and rubber residue from all the cars on the road. Part of the deal is the manufacture's want you to buy wiper blades all the time. Why make some thing that lasts for years when you can make something that only lasts months and you can sell tons of them. More profit. I will agree that original wiper blades that came on my truck lasted way longer than any of the replacements I have put on since. I have discovered that not all OEM parts are that expensive. I think I will call the Dodge dealer and see what they want for a set of OEM wiper blades.,,
