This is how I would do it. I would grind a V into the crack and if you can do it on both sides even better. I would then put it in an oven and heat it as hot as you could. Then pull it out of the oven weld it with Ni-rod and then put it back in the oven and heat it to top heat again. Then turn off the oven and let it slowly cool.. That is how your suppose to weld cast iron. If you do not heat it up before you weld it the cast iron cracks in many small cracks around the weld so sooner or latter it will crack or break again
