One must remember that O'Reillys contracts their filters out to the lowest bidder. So while Wix may be making them now, Champ Labs, Fram, Purolator made them in the past or might make them in the future. And if you get an old one off the shelf, it could have been made by anybody. They're as good as any $4 filter out there and you could easily get 200K miles out of your engine with the MicroGard filter....or any other filter on the market for that matter.
