I know you are giving me some good natured ribbing but in fact this one model did prove to be a general lemon in hindsight. But sometimes you have to just try something unless a company has a generally poor reputation. That model had not been out that long when dad bought his tractor. Hindsight being 20/20 the best thing dad could have done IMO for the money he had budgeted he should have bought a new 1066 even though it was a tad smaller than what he had. The bad thing at the time was inflation was horrid and it was not more than a couple years afterward that he would have had to come up with in excess of 14K to boot up to a new comparable tractor to what he had. Where we live there were not the high horsepower tractors around to buy used and the jockeys were not yet bringing MidWest tractors back in great numbers.
