Acording to a chart I have here the 13.6 tire size started in 1955 and contimoed on from the 12 size that was dated 1938 to 1960 being in use and on a 12" rim BUT before that the compairable tire was a 10.00 with those sizes used 1932 to 1940 and it was used on a 6" wide rim so that is what would have been on that tractor when new if it had came on rubber. Now where you are wanting a flat tread for better ground griping that 10.00 tire was designed with a round look and it is perfectly OK to put the newer 13.6 tire on a narrow rim to give it a more correct for tractor look. I personaly to get it to look corectly would NOT use a 12" rim, nothing more than a 10" and preferably a 9" rim because to look corectly that tractor is supposed to have a round looking tire on it. My information comes from Miller Tire site just a couple of days ago and from my age and experiance being on the down side to 74. You are not planing on doing a lot of field work with it are you? If not get a rim halfway between what you have gotten now and what was orignally used and it will look better and putting it on to give it that round look it will increase the diameter just a bit for better speeds to get around with it as in a parade. Iremember when the size like the 10.00 was a common size. And the size ratings being so much different is why you see at shows an unstyled John Deere B with very small tires is that they had a 8.25 tire that is confused now with an 8.3 size when to have correct size on they should have an 11.2 tire. That rim will just make your tractor look like it is setting on a flat tire all the time. With the more proper rim size you will not have that break problem as the tractors were designed to take care of that.
