thought i would go look a bit more at the alternator tonight. was cold out so didn't stay long. here is what i found. pig tail unhooked from back of alternator tractor not running key switch on, 12.86 volt at red wire off "bat" terminal of alternator and 11.86 off white wire that goes to key switch. started tractor 14.76 at "bat" terminal and 14.86 on switch wire. hmmmm. got a new pigtail with a diode in it and put it on but why would i have higher voltage coming out of alternator on sense side? figuring something in alt went bad the other day when it got hot while discing. did an amp check was .5 Gary
