If you have some time on your hands,search the web for some exercises to do. Barbells,dumbells,weight bench. You'd be amazed at what you can do to tighten the muscles and ease the problem. I've completely fixed my left shoulder,and my right one is good enough to sleep on it and use it fairly normally. It still cracks some when I rotate it,and I'm not going out and pitch a baseball game,but it's 1000% better than it used to be. I had to lay on my side,prop myself up on my elbow and relax until it popped before I could sleep at night. I can sleep most of the night on it now.
At one time,both sides were so bad that when I was out on the tractor all day,I'd have to alternate putting one arm then the other,inside my bibs to take the weight off. They'd ache like a toothache.
Weight lifting over the winter five years ago had me in good shape. It got bad again,but the elliptical has straightened it out again.
