Probably one of the earliest and most common hedge row shrub/tree in Sask. It was a fast way to get a hedge/shelterbelt around the early settler's yards. Actually native to Siberia but it was imported to North America. It is tough and resilient and will spread around if you let it. Like most hedges it needs a little maintenance to cut back the dead stuff that falls so that is what I was doing in the video.
