Volunteer fire depts are somewhat of a sore subject with me. I realize their importance and the need. My family has had many members over the years. But just like little league sports, some people lose their common sense, and drive like idiots when the siren sounds. In several small hamlets and towns the local firetrucks and buildings (using federal grants) are worth more than the buildings they are there to save. Some people can not separate a hobby (keen interest) from reality.
