I don't think there would be a lot of extra costs associated with maintaining separate lines. Almost everything is already consolidated. Engineering is all the same, other than the equipment that is different, most of which is on the NH side and hasn't been updated much in 20 years, parts warehouses are the same, parts systems are the same, Partech and ASIST are the same, only difference might be area reps, which wouldn't be a huge cost, because they cover a HUGE area, and aren't exceptionally well paid. There's also the issue of what brand they'd consolidate to. There'd be a lot of hard feelings from the side that lost their brand. The fact that they are 2 separate companies with 2 separate headquarters would be the largest savings to be had.
