Thanks 4play I think you are dead on. As i said the engine is basically good rings good no leaks so the oil is being lost for another reason. After investigating I did find oil in the pcv hose going to the intake so I think you are right on. I also found a lot of people on the net with the same problem. The pcv valve is almost impossible to get to so I bet it is the factory one. Thanks for your help. This is the 2nd engine I have seen do this. Just something to remember
